Though registration is now closed, you can still attend the Orchard Celebration. Suggestioned donation of $10-15 which can be paid at the door by cash, check, credit card, or Venmo (@Phillyorchards).

This is an all-ages event, and it's dog-friendly (but pups are required to stay on leash). There is parking on site and the Woodlands is also easily accessible via trolley (any route except for the #10). Upon entering the cemetery gates at 4000 Woodland Ave (across from the trolley portal), turn right. The orchard is located at the first intersection. Park anywhere along the roads without blocking the intersection.

• Orchard tours at 12:30 and 2
• Golden Persimmon and Purple Fig Awards ceremony at 1:15
• Fresh cider pressing 12-2:30
• Lots of wonderful food & beverage options 12-3 
• Raffle drawing at 2:30pm

In 2022, it will be time to commemorate POP’s 15th year at our annual Orchard Celebration to honor and recognize the contributions of POP supporters who have helped advance our mission over the last year. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, September 17 2022 at the POP Learning Orchard at The Woodlands in West Philadelphia. Make a gift in honor of POP’s 15th year or donate to attend this sliding-scale event that is open to all. Learn more about POP’s work over the last year by viewing our annual report.

This year’s Purple Fig honoree is The Junior League of Philadelphia, whose support and partnership has made the new infrastructure at the Learning Orchard possible. Golden Persimmon honorees will be POP’s 2022 Lead Orchard Volunteers who are actively engaged in supporting community orchard partner sites in their own neighborhoods. 

Activities include: orchard based art projects with Ampersand Textile & friends; live music from Martronimous, and fresh apple cider pressing with the POP team. Plus we'll have samples of season produce donated by POP partners and Philly Foodworks (ever tried a pawpaw? Asian pear? fresh fig? come early to make sure you get to try them!).

Refreshments will be provided by Golden Dragon, Weckerly's Ice Cream, Riverwards Produce, Ploughman Cider, Philly Foodworks, and Camuna Cellars.
